Resolutions

Merry Christmas! I know it is late and I am sorry. I always feel like I have to wait to write until my photos are ready. Today I decided, that I will write sooner… even if the photos aren't ready! I do have some cute ones of the kids. We finally met Miss Caroline… she is such a snuggler! I wanted to keep her but Nichole wouldn't let me. Bummer! Pictures are coming… hopefully soon!

Tonight we are going out with Gio and Genny to Medici. The restaurant is fabulous! I can't wait. We have decided to dress is up some… so Chad and I are off to the mall right after work. I am going to put those gift cards to work right away! Haha

This is the first year I have decided to actually make some New Years Resolutions. They might come true if I share them with you all…
1. Establish a workout routine. My goal is not to loose weight… but to get my butt in shape. Since I stopped running, I can really tell a difference. I don't think I want to run again (I don't really enjoy it) but I might work it into a schedule at the gym. I am going to actually sign up for classes at 4-seasons that way I feel obligated to go! We will see if this works.
2. Eat healthier. Lately, my tooth keeps getting sweeter. I love healthy food but I have an addiction to follow it up with something sweet that usually isn't good for me at all. My snacks haven't been very healthy either. I just want to make better choices for an overall healthier lifestyle.
3. Photo-tastic. I want to take more time out to experiment and play with my camera and some of the manual settings that I am not that good at yet (examples: adjusting white balance on the fly and using my hot shoe flash unit).
4. Keep my After the Diamond New Year Resolutions (see www.afterthediamond.blogspot.com) for those.
5. Blog at least twice a week… if I can accomplish that, I will feel like I can blog something without being too boring in the day to day happenings.

Let me know if I start to slack in any of these areas! That’s what friends and family are for… honesty! Leave a comment if you wish with your resolution and I will try to help you stick to yours!

I wish you all the best for a wonderful and prosperous 2009!

Weekend Events

This weekend I had a small Christmas party with my college girlfriends. Julie, Trish, Leann and Angie came over for dinner and drinks. Everyone took home a cute bag of homemade hot chocolate and they all had a 'seat' with a snowflake ornament, candy canes, and a name tag. I have to admit... it was cute. Dinner was good. Drinks were... interesting! The wine was great but I tried to make some mixed drinks and I think we can all agree that I am no bartender. haha Trish did have the flu bug... poor girl. She was pretty sick from about 10:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. Overall we had a great time and lots of laughs. We also had some interesting "eye-opener" chats before the night ended. I will just leave it at that! haha

Sunday we made a quick trip up to Chad's parents to see his Sister and her family... including the newest addition - Sweet Caroline who is about 3 months old now. She is such a cuddler! I took my camera but I was so busy holding her that I never got the camera out! Oops. I will see her on Wednesday and Friday again though. I will be sure to get some shots. Cheri (Chad's Mom) has the flu bug as well. Hopefully Chad and I are still able to dodge that... although we were exposed to it twice this weekend. The drive to Dixon was a bit stressful. The wind was crazy and they have so much more snow up there that some roads were drifted over pretty heavily. Good thing my truck is a monster!
Have a warm night and a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Winter is here

I know... I have been such a bad blogger lately. I have many things I could blame it on but I won't bore you with all of that! I did have a wedding this weekend though! It was awesome... head over to my After the Diamond blog to read about it (www.afterthediamond.blogspot.com).

I am 98% done Christmas shopping. Whoo Hoo! However, only about 15% done wrapping. For some reason, I really don't enjoy to wrapping Christmas presents. I think it may just seem overwhelming because I have the 'just wrapping and not being creative with them feeling'. I like to wrap wedding presents! Go figure! haha

I stayed home from work on Tuesday hoping that I wasn't coming down with strep throat. I woke up barely able to swallow. Now I am blessed with the crazy drainange but fortunately no more sore throat. I think I am just having sinus issues.

Well... I have been staring at a computer for about 10 hours today... I think my time in front of them is up! :) Have a warm night!
