Flu bug

Oh no... I think the flu bug caught up with Chad. Poor guy is upstairs sleeping with 3 blankets and a sweatsuit on. He is still cold. We turned the heat up. He has a slight temperature at 99.4. Hopefully it doesn't get higher and he can sleep it off tonight.

I have spent the day cleaning and working on filling in the trenches in the yard. No... they still aren't done! haha... It is a lot of work! I should be buff when this is all said and done with. :) I also got some of my Halloween decorations out. A week prior is never too late!

Here are some photos I took of Val's kids when I was down there. They are very well behaved and so darn cute! I will also be posting some that I took of Kaelynn soon! Stay tuned...

Things just never slow down...

Well, what can I say... I thought things would slow down a bit after my last wedding. However, since then my work at SF has kicked into high gear and I have been working a lot of overtime. On top of that, I am a United Way Ambassador and we have been extremely busy with all of the plans and details for that.

So... to catch you up. My mom's surprise 50th was a hit. She was really surprised when a bus load of people showed up from Effingham! And I do mean "bus load"! My aunt rented a orange school bus and they all traveled down here on it. It was a good time. In addition, My Grandma, my sister & her friends, Leann, my cousin Louis and I all went to a haunted house in Owaneco. I didn't expect it to be much but I honestly think it was the best haunted house I have ever been too and it was only $3 to get in. (Well, Grandma paid for us all so technically it was free - Thanks Grandma!)

On Wednesday, I met up with Julie and Leann in Morris for dinner. I love meeting for dinner. It is such a nice time to relax and catch up! Thanks girls... can't wait to do it again!

Today I went and saw Laura and Kaelynn. She is such a doll... I will post pictures later! She is still so small and delicate. I just want to snuggle with her. :)

On a final note, I found out Elizabeth & Steven are expecting! CONGRATULATIONS GUYS!!!! There are babies everywhere... it is going to be so much fun watching them all grow up. :)

On a better note...

While I was at home this weekend I did get some pictures of my parents new pups... they are much bigger than the last time I was home. In these photos they are about 9 weeks old. Last time I was home they weren't even 2 weeks yet. They couldn't walk or open their eyes. Now look at them! They are so playful! There were 8. So far, 4 have been sent off to great homes. By the way, they are German Shorthair Pointers. My parents have temporarily named them all "puppy". :)

Terrible Tragedy - Danny Buesinger

Last Wednesday I was working in the yard and I came inside, my phone was ringing. I just missed it. I picked it up and realized I had 5 missed calls. My heart sank - I knew something was wrong. All 5 calls were from Valerie and Chad. I called them back immediately and Chad answered… extremely upset. Valerie's brother had just been killed in a terrible accident. Danny was only 17 years old. He was on a friends mini dirt bike and pulled out onto a country road at the top of the hill. The neighbor saw it all happen and said he looked both ways. It appears that there was a blind spot for him when he looked to his right. Danny's uncle was on his way home, coming up the hill. Danny was hit and killed instantly. I went home first thing Friday morning and spend the rest of the weekend through Monday with Valerie and her family. Everyone was in shock. Everyone was at a loss. The visitation was Sunday night and the funeral was on Monday. The funeral director said there were about 1,000 people that came through. Danny was ornery but he really was a good kid. He was popular and loved by everyone who knew him. He will be greatly missed. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers as they try to pick up the pieces.

Rest In Peace Danny - We all miss you.

BEAUTIFUL WEDDING!!!

Jonnie and Doug's wedding was beyond imagination! Check out my after the diamond blog for more info! http://www.afterthediamond.blogspot.com/

Last week was pretty busy. I was at SIU-C recruiting for State Farm. I absolutely LOVED it. I could do that every day. Tuesday we spent the morning driving then met the Computer Science faculty for lunch. We had a break and then I gave a presentation along with another State Farmer some students that night. The presentation went great! I felt really comfortable... probably because the material was pretty easy to talk about. We also had a lot of great questions. On Wednesday, We attended the Career Fair where we talked to a lot of great potential individuals for our internship program or for full time opportunities. The guys gave a technical presentation to a classroom after the career fair and the girls attended a faculty meeting to give feedback on the Computer Science curriculum. After that, we attended a department picnic and decided and made some call backs for interviews. Thursday, we held the interviews. I have never been on the other side of an interview before. I really enjoyed it. No one seemed nervous... I was surprised by that. On the way home Thursday night, the girls rode together so that we could stop by the mall in Tuscola! I actually spent some money... but I got a LOT of great deals! :)

That is my quick update for the night. It is already after 10 so I am headed to bed (after I finish folding laundry... boooo)

GOOD NIGHT!
