Pentax Ordered... Hip Hip Horray!

Last night, I broke down. I couldn't wait for the stinking Amazon credit card anymore. The camera had jumped from 3% off to 6% off. So.... that saved me an additional $40. If I waited for the card, and the price went back to only 3% off then I wasn't saving anything. So... I ordered it. It will be here Wednesday! Right before I take off for Julies! I can't wait!!!

We went to Easter at Grandma Kemps yesterday and then went to Grandma and Grandpa Kochers to see how Grandpa was doing. He hasn 't been doing so great lately. He seemed tired and weak yesterday. Hopefully he will get some stregth back and start to feel better soon! Today we are headed to my parents. Grandma Schroyer will be there... if she is feeling up to it. If not, we will run into town to visit before heading back to Bloomington.

I don't have pictures from yesterdays Easter gathering to post but Nichole sent me some photos she had taken of the kids. They are absolutely adorable! I had to post two of my favorites. (Note: these were taken in Virginia... not sure who the photographer is)

I hope the Easter Bunny found you this morning! Happy Easter!

Spring has Sprung!!!

Guess what! Today is the first day of Spring! HORRAY!!! I have been patiently (okay, somewhat patiently) waiting for spring to get here. I am thrilled that winter is officially behind us. Now I am just ready for more days with weather like we had today.... ahhh... it was so nice out!

Besides my realization that today was the first day of Spring... I received more good news. Amazons fraud department called to verify that I applied for a business credit card and get some additional information. Once they had that, I told them I was in a hurry to receive the card so I could order my camera. She said she would rush it through and I should get it much sooner. I hope to see it in the mail on Saturday and order my camera that night! Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Chad and I planned to get a lot done tonight but that didn't happen. We did get all the mud cleaned off from the end of our driveway and the surrounding area. Then we had a good dinner and took the girls for a walk. We met some neighbors down the street who were very friendly. I am really enjoying meeting everyone in the neighborhood. We are going out to dinner tomorrow with Jon and Nikki. I wanted to clean the floors and dust some but by the time we got back from out walk, it was too late. I think Chad has fallen asleep on the couch.

Time seems to be flying by! I can't believe it is almost Friday already. Easter is so early this year. I have a lot to do before we head to our Easter dinners with the families. Hopefully I will find time to sqeeze everything in!

We had Heathers wedding shower on the 9th. I had 20 people RSVP 'yes' but about 30 people show up! She must be loved! :) The shower was a Tupperware bridal shower. Heather received A LOT of Tupperware... which will be great for her new day care business! Everything went smoothly... I can't wait for the wedding!

Here is a photo from Heather's shower...

Blog Lag

Okay... I know, I know... it has been a while. Bridget keeps reminding me what a horrible blogger I am. I promise to be better...

I guess there isn't much new since my last post. I am still waiting to order my camera. I have requested a credit card from Amazon and I am waiting to receive it before I place my order. However, my patience is growing very thin. I thought I was usually a pretty patient person... but HOLY MOLY - I can't take it anymore! I need to get it and practice before Heathers wedding gets here!!! Here is a photo of the camera... I forgot where I stole it from... oops...

Alright... lets talk about age. Sometimes I feel old. Chad and I went down to my parents this weekend and ... well... scooped poop. Yup... scooped poop. My parents needed help cleaning out the barn - specifically Mystic's stall. For those of you who don't know, Mystic is my sister and I's horse. She was a gift from Jady (my cousin) & A.J. (her hubby). Mystic is a great horse but cleaning out her stall was some crappy work... HAHA! My back is STILL sore! At 28, am I really old enough to have back problems or I am really that out of shape. (Probably both!)

Keeping on the age topic, my Grandma Schroyer has had a full life of 92 years. She had an accident when I was in college of which we aren't really sure what happened. She was rushed to the emergency room and died twice on the operating table. Once they 'stablized' her, they gave her 2 hours to live. The doctors don't know my Grandma very well. She is hard headed and stubborn. She is still hanging in there and it has been almost 10 years since the accident. Anyway... I have to tell you all a story. My Grandma talks about a guy that is in the same retirement home as she is. She talks about him fairly frequently and I have often teased her about getting married again. She has always laughed it off and told me they were just friends. However, my mother called me the other day and informed me that my Grandmother told her she had done something she probably shouldn't have. She kissed her crush!!! I was laughing so hard. What makes it funnier, is that he didn't like it. He backed away and got mad at my Grandma. In her defense, Grandma told my mom ... "If he would just get over that dead wife of his, everything would be just fine!" Can you believe that?!?! I told you she was hard headed. I give her credit for having the cahones to give it a shot. What have you got to loose at 92???? :)

Chad and I also ventured to Taylorville the weekend prior to watch Kayla in her senior play... her final year. She did FANTASTIC. It is sad to see her in her last High School play... but we know there will me more at Culver-Stockton. The private college in Missouri that she has decided to attend! I am sure there are exciting times ahead for her!

On a different note, Chad and I went to Midwest Food Bank tonight and volunteered. I am a council member of State Farm Community Volunteers. Tonights activity was one of our 'Council in Action' opportunities. We had a lot of fun. We scooped Rice Crispies cereal into large zip lock bags. Midwest Food Bank is a great organization. We learned a lot about them and got a tour of their facility while we were there. Over 98% of the donations go directly to feeding those in need. Check them out... http://www.midwestfoodbank.com/

One final thing before I head off to bed... we had the girls groomed on Monday. BOY are they cute - especiall with the bows in their hair! I will post a picture soon!!!

Nighty night!

Neighbors Offer Free Wi-Fi?

Well, I was finishing up my work on Heather and Travis's engagement photos tonight and I had an email pop up. I normaly wouldn't think much of this but since we don't have email access at home, I found it quite odd. Then I realized, that I was connected. Someone not too far away has an unsecure internet. Bad for them - good for us! The signal strength is low, but hey, I am definitely not going to complain.

As I sit here typing, I am reminded of a scary story. Rhyme reminds me almost every time I look at her. She is laying next to me now... fortunately! The other night we had brought the girls in from a walk and I gave them each a piece of meat roll. Tempest slowly chewed hers as she usually does while Rhyme 'inhales' hers in hopes of getting more. This 'inhaling' resulted in her choking. I didn't realize she was chocking at first. When I did, I hollored for Chad to come to the kitchen. I opened Rhymes mouth and sure enough the food was lodged down in her throat. I grabbed her and Chad stuck his finger down her throat against Rhymes desires and pulled out the treat. That gave us a scare! Now we break her food into small pieces! Sigh......

Besides the girls, my biggest update is my hubby aged another year on Sunday! He is now a ripe young age of 32 but he doesn't look a day over 31 or act a day over 13! Just kidding honey! We had another birthday over the weekend (okay, Monday isn't the weekend but I try to pretend)Julie's birthday is today! Happy Birthday Jules!

I have been telling Chad that I am going to get myself a camera for his birthday... haha. Well, I have been researching and looking. I REALLY want the Pentax K20D. However, it is almost twice as much as I wanted to spend. SIGH. Decisions, decisions! Bridget and I went up to Peoria to look at the digital SLR's. So far, I haven't found one single store that actually has the camera that I want in-stock. Actually, the only store that even carries Pentax is Peoria Camera. They are going to call as soon as it comes in. I will probably be making another trip up there to check it out. However, with a new camera, I need a lens, bag, batteries, memory card, the list goes on. Again... I am going to have to think about this! Until then... I will be using my 35mm which worked just fine last weekend...

Last weekend, I met Travis and Heather for their engagement session. Oh my gosh... the two of them are so much fun. We had a great time. Too bad the weather wasn't a little warmer... but I think the photos turned out nice! See for yourself...
